New Year, New Site!

Sort of.

I've had this website (carrieabutler.com) for years, but I finally decided to consolidate my web presence. One click gives you access to my author career, my design business, and—of course—my writing blog. For me, 2015 shall be known as the year of simplification!

But if we're being honest here, I'm a little nervous about leaving Blogger. Here's a quick excerpt from my pros and cons list:

• PRO:  Given Google's track record from recent years, they could choose to nix everyone's blogs on a (well-calculated) whim at any moment. Moving on seems like a good idea.
• CON: By choosing to leave, I'm starting over. I can't carry my hundreds of GFC followers over to the new blog.
• PRO: Early spring cleaning was probably in order, anyway. How many of my followers stopped paying attention to my posts after events like the Platform-Building Campaign and A-Z? Inflated numbers don't help anyone.
• CON: I'll have to spend the first quarter of the year finding ways to lure—I mean, lead—my regulars over here.

See what I mean? It's a gamble, but it's one I'm willing to take, especially as I shift the focus of my writing blog to the more business-centric aspects of our industry. *Gulp* I hope you'll stick with me!
